Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas is everywhere. She’s one of the newest business writer under The Manila Times. Grace also is an online influencer since 1998 and handling her established group “Pinoy Blogger” that’s composed of 2000 Bloggers who helped her disseminate the information faster than a bullet under her advertising & marketing company, Tag Media Group. TV and radio guesting are just part of her everyday life. Well anyway, she’s the main anchor under DZME 1530 “Let’s talk about career” for 3 years and the organizers of different successful events under her brands; Asia Leaders Awards, Asia Leaders Forum, Asia Digital Marketing Expo, Asia HR Expo, Asia E- Commerce Expo, Travelooza and Laguna Blogging Summits.
What’s surprising is that, she majored Engineering in College and even took Masters in Management Major in Engineering Management where she’s supposed to be a Magna Cum Laude if she didn’t run in public office in 2010 where she required to file her leave of absence in school. She chose public service over her own glory as she likes to help her constituents more.
Engr. Grace Bondad Nicolas is a mother of 3 teens and a happy wife to Business Intelligence expert and Chief Executive Officer of Tag Media Group, Andrew Troy Nicolas.
Grace is originally from Calauan, Laguna, a 3rd class municipality in Laguna where she spent most of her childhood and adult life before spending 7 years in New Jersey USA after getting married and also where her children (Andria, Alexa and Alexis) was born. Then she came back to pursue her dream, to be an entrepreneur. Though she’s already an entrepreneur all her life as the oldest from 3 siblings helping her parents construction company for 21 years and even selling from her make-believe store of cottons to her two sisters when she’s still little, she proved that everyone can just shift career as long as you are determined.
For 6 years, Grace is active to her AG Builders & Developers Company with construction projects all around the South and one of the major supplier and contractor under University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Laguna. She did the first house construction at Playa Calatagan under Landco with projects for clients at Filinvest, Crown Asia, Springhomes and a lot more. When her parents sold their own construction company, Grace slowed down also and focus on what she love also, writing, with an advice from her supportive husband, since even with Construction, Grace managed to be working as a writer and consultant for Philippine Information Agency in Region 4A and contributing to different regional newspapers as a columnist sometime in 2010.
She keeps on sharing her story to most of her public speaking gig, that her first love is journalism but it’s not available during that time in Letran so she asked her mom that she will take the hardest course at Colegio De San Juan De Letran which is Engineering.
While juggling as an entrepreneur in Construction & Real Estate industries and being as a journalist, Little did she knows that it’s just a preparation on what lies ahead.
Andrew told her to focus on one thing first and not to do both as people will not believe that she can do both together. Even enjoying, Grace chose to focus in Marketing, one of her jobs under her parents previous company. To hone her skills, she applied to be the Business Head at one of the biggest advertising company in Manila, after 3 months she resigned and became a Social PR Consultant to one of the biggest online gaming company in the world. After her stint as the Social PR Consultant, she met the CEO where he eventually became her mentor, the grandson of the former Philippines President Jose P. Laurel.
Robert Laurel Yupangco is feisty. He is strict and with multiple meetings everyday. Grace met him through their common friend and that first meeting led to her employment as one of the Chief Operations Officer Under Roberts company, the Zoomanity Group Under Yupangco Group of Companies where Robert is the President. Grace handled the operation in Bohol while helping also the business development in Manila with an overwhelming increase in sales through her careful research, strategic planning and lead generation.
After sometime, Grace resigned but because of her proven track record, Robert still get her as her Marketing and Branding Consultant handling also the Public Relations and Media and for over 7 years and counting, Grace is one of the most trusted Consultants of Robert. Grace eventually helped also the companies related to Yupangco Group such as Yupangco Electronic Company, Samgyupsalamat in Century City Mall, Metropolitan, Tagaytay, FilRemit and Manila Express.
